“I’m able to focus better in that seat.”, “I have a lot of energy can I stand while I work today.” These are both statements I have heard from students over the past year with the implementation of some flexible seating. Having options of where to sit or even not to sit but stand instead allows students to make the choice that will help them learn best. It is amazing to see the level of ownership students have over their learning when they are able to make this choice. Flexible seating also allows students to work in an environment that best meets their needs. For those with attention difficulties or sensory needs, flexible seating can support these needs for students.
