Smith Elementary is a small, diverse campus where we want our students to feel comfortable and safe. We want our students to feel they have options and they have control of their learning. We respect the needs of children that need to move and wiggle in order to learn. Most of our students have a hard time sitting still for long periods of time. Seating that will allow them to sit on the floor, bounce, rock, or wiggle will help engage their kinesthetic learning. The students that I serve benefit from having a place in my classroom that helps them take a break, refocus and get back to learning.
