Our Montessori classroom emphasizes the use of lots of floor work. Instead of sitting in traditional desks, students are welcome to walk about the room and choose a spot they are comfortable in to complete their academic work. This rug will help create a comfortable environment for my students to bring their books to and read or complete their challenging work. Creating alternate seating in the classroom that is both functional and comfortable for students is essential in ensuring all students are given the tools they need to be successful in the classroom. While students are supplied with small rugs to bring their work to, they must sit on the floor with no comfortable padding beneath them. This rug will help students maintain a more comfortable seating arrangement and help minimize that distraction while they are working.
