My goal is to create a classroom library that provides our readers with a range of high-interest books that will capture their imaginations and teach them more about our world. I want my students to feel represented in the books they are reading and feel both the challenge and the enjoyment of becoming fluent readers. With a range literature, they will be able to make connections to the books, to each other, and to the world. Books have a way of making people feel special and important. There is no better feeling than seeing a child get excited about a book because they see a character that looks like them. My students are deserving of new books that will provide them with mirrors of their own world and windows into the world we live in, books that students can choose and dive into in our daily classroom learning.
