My goal is to increase student engagement, rigor, and excitement about science by offering more thought provoking classroom experiences. Although we are a high performing school with extremely talented students, we do not have funding for more lab equipment and school supplies. Items like the rock cycle kits will help my students see the effects that melting, cooling, heating, and pressure have on rocks in person. I want my students to EXPERIENCE science, not just read about it. Some of them have never done science experiments, so I want their first experience to spark creativity and thirst for deeper knowledge. I want our journey through the curriculum to be one to remember.
