A picture is worth a thousand words. This is nowhere truer than a math classroom. I use colorful visual aids daily to make mathematics accessible for all students, primarily at my personal expense.
For most, the language of mathematics is challenging.
For many of my students, math is NOT their favorite subject. The work is challenging and difficult to understand. Colorful visual aids make learning fun and provide something a little different. When I present my students with visual aids for math, they can be in color and give a deeper context and meaning to the lesson. In addition, students learning will be stimulated and connect the learning to help them make sense of what they are learning without complication.
A color printer along with ink for our classroom will provide my students with visual aids that make learning dynamic and fun; as well as take the spotlight off the challenge of learning mathematics for my students.
