Students will receive their own copy of "The Other Wes Moore" along with teacher guided standards based English Language Arts instruction. It makes for an interesting read for my high school students because it deals with real life problems which many of them can relate to. Today's youth is faced with the problem of making the right decisions. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish between the right and wrong choice. An example of this is dropping out of High School. The Other Wes Moore relates today's generation because while it is now 2019, many problems remain the same. In addition, there are other problems such as an economic situation (poverty) where it is harder to get a job, which makes it even more important to get a proper education. A person's attitude towards things can also have an affect towards their future. All in all, everything relates back to the problem of not making the right decisions. No matter what the decisions are about, they can all play a role in a person's future. My hopes for all my students is that they find their motivation in life, set goals, be a role model, be proud of who they are and where they come from and set the bar high for themselves and do everything possible to surpass it. “When we're young, it sometimes seems as if our world doesn't exist outside our city, our block, our house, our room. We make decisions based on what we see in that limited world and follow the only models available.” ― Wes Moore - Bestselling author of The Other Wes Moore
