I will use these yoga mats to build a practice of yoga in my classroom. Yoga is a proven activity that promotes relaxation, attention, mindfulness, and most importantly for my students self-regulation. All my students need help in recognizing and regulating their emotions and behavior. By introducing and practicing yoga in my classroom, I hope to give students an outlet for them to learn to regulate their emotions and advocate for what they need in order to be successful. Together with my students I also hope that yoga helps us to build a safe and welcoming community for them to grow and thrive.

About my class
