I am hoping to get a few things for my students this year that will help their reading skills in first-grade. Having these "telephones" around the classroom will help the students not only sound out the words they are reading but also to do it in a way that will not disturb their classmates. My first-grade students are eager and ready to start reading. The books in this will also help them become more comfortable with reading and ready to take on larger books in the future. My students will also need help with sight words and having a book to use will be helpful to them.
