This summer, I was fortunate enough to attend the NYSATA summer institute at great Camp Sagamore. We had the opportunity to learn the art of 2D and 3D needle felting. During the process of felting, the artist repeatedly taps the needle into the felt over and over to adhere the felt to itself resulting in beautiful artwork. This process became both meditative and relaxing and is something I feel my students would enjoy. I envision them dreaming up 3D felted sculptures, felted flag pendants, 2D animal felting and much more! The materials would allow me to bring fiber arts to my students in a new and exciting way.
