I will use the leveled books during guided reading groups with my English Language Learners. These students are just learning our language and vivid pictures are crucial in their understanding of new vocabulary. The books teach about the United States as well as places around the world so that we can identify similarities and differences. This will promote discussion and sharing of their unique cultures which helps to build relationships and community. Our ELLs like to feel successful on their own. The center activity boxes are important because they can practice their new skills independently. I can't wait to get started!
