The iPads will help increase students motivation while at the same time providing them with repeated opportunities to be self directed learners. The reading program we have available for the students allows students to grow at their own pace by providing students multiple opportunities to feel successful and show their reading comprehension abilities. As the same time, students will be able to use the materials requested to engage in guided reading which is at a higher level and requires the interaction between teacher and student. During guided reading with the iPads, students will be able to learn how to take notes on the iPads as well as annotate their text, which they are unable to do with the books from the library. This will also help prepare students for the Common Core test which is a computer adaptive test.
