The books will be used in class for book reports. The subject matter for the book directly relates to many students. Many have had difficult lives and they can identify with many of the characters in the book. The class completes 3-4 book reports each semester. I try to find books with topics that are easily accessible to the students. We are fortunate enough to have a specialist come in and paint with our students multiple times throughout the year. This is an amazing therapeutic process for the students. They learn about classic painters and try to utilize the same methods. Chagall, Monet, and even Pollock. They love it!
