As a first year teacher, I have been working to create a classroom that is not only academically stimulating but also welcoming and comfortable for all my students. In the weeks before school, I have been thinking a lot about my students I have yet to meet! I hope that many of my students will gravitate towards our classroom library to read, play, relax, use the listening center, make friends and more. A library is a space to grow, explore, and dream. My hope is to attract all my students into the classroom library at various parts of the day with the help of flexible seating options and a great classroom carpet. The carpet goes with my classroom's theme: The Great Outdoors! I like to think of learning as an adventure, and Kindergarten is a great place to explore libraries! Our students' classrooms may change, their libraries will most certainly grow, but I hope their Kindergarten classroom library will be a great start to the wonderful adventure of reading.
