To effectively teach our students about utilizing their learning resources, these materials will help our students create their own "math textbook" that is completely done with their own work, experiences, and understanding. When teaching our students about the importance of integer operations, we will use snap cubes to model counting and the usage of positive and negative numbers. Students also need simple supplies to ensure their interactive notebooks are going to be useful in the future. Using materials such as, protractors, rulers, sticky-notes and note cards can push students to be creative in the way they understand math concepts in their own book.
