Everyone loves to settle into a comfortable spot when they read a book. Imagine you are a teen who does not have a space available that is quiet and relaxing for reading. Students embrace opportunities to read when they can escape to an inviting environment. Our school does not have a library where students can choose a book and ra bean bag chair to relax in while they read. In addition, the majority of our students do not have transportation to go to the local library to enjoy an atmosphere that is conducive to reading for pleasure. Our students need to know that being at an alternative school does not have to result in limited experiences and resources that are less than. Donating to our project will allow our at-risk students to experience an inviting space to take them away from the challenges of their lives and read a variety of selections of literature.
