My students say the best part of my class is the “Doing”. I teach them vocabulary, theory, and concept but the true learning happens when each student applies what I have taught. Having the right tools help make it all possible. More specialized tools allow each student the opportunity to draw out their set or costume designs, apply the special effects make-up they see in films, and build scenery for our shows. One of their favorite units is Stage Make-up because we focus on special effects like Old Age, Fake Beards, Bruises, Wounds, and Scars. This unit allows them to try to replicate what they see in the movies they love. Many of them will keep the make-up on throughout the rest of the day, enjoying the reactions from peers and teachers.
