I am developing this project because I think that a classroom library will be a place that my students will really enjoy; because they are reading independently and also discussing about their books selection with their classmates. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-trying to focused on diversity, Hispanic history, and leadership. I also think that independent reading is the best way students can improve in their target language. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading in other classes, so this project is part of an institutional goal in MCHS; develop reading activities to INCREASE LITERACY.
