Our Tampa school struggles with an old air conditioning unit that doesn't work properly when it is working at all. In addition, the humidity in our Florida classroom constantly approaches 100%. Students are constantly leaving the class to go find an area where the air functions, missing valuable instructional time. When our room is loaded with warm bodies, the humidity gets so high that the walls sweat. The students cannot get any relief from our barely-functional air conditioning unit and the best way to help them is to reduce the humidity with an education-saving dehumidifier. This also ties into many of the subjects that we are learning the Chemistry including phase changes, gas laws and condensation.
