I want to create a relaxing atmosphere for learning by giving my students a large area rug to learn and play on along with lighting that promotes calmness. The light filters will help eliminate harsh glare, flickers, eye strain, headaches, and anxiety typically caused by fluorescent lighting. I would like to cover four out of the eight lights in our classroom. We are in need of a large carpeted area to meet for lessons and play. Our current rug can not comfortably accommodate our class. Children need their own space and enough room to interact safely with one another. I chose a rug that promotes phonics skills through animals.
