As a first-year teacher, one of my top priorities is parent communication. I want to have an open line of communication with parents about what is happing both in the classroom and in the school. These folders will help give me a durable and lasting folder to send back and forth from school to home with my students. Learning takes lots of support and that is even more true when students are learning in a second language. I want to build a strong classroom community where I am able to work with parents to support their child both in and outside of the classroom. These folders will give me a concrete way to do this while still being manageable for everyday use. By opening these lines of communication with parents I can ensure that each student is able being supported in the best possible ways, as an individual learner both in and out of the classroom to ensure a successful academic year.
