As an Occupational Therapist (OT), I serve students at Mount Pleasant Elementary School (MPE) and work with children with a wide range of developmental, physical, sensory, and learning needs, including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. My students are capable, curious learners who sometimes need additional support to participate fully in the classroom. Occupational therapy helps them develop the fine-motor strength, visual-motor coordination, bilateral coordination, motor planning, sensory regulation, and independence needed for everyday school activities. MPE is a high-needs school community, where many students have limited access to additional educational resources. Providing these hands-on tools will ensure that students have opportunities to learn, practice, experience success, and build confidence. Thank you for helping my students!
