Without leaving their school, students will be able to travel the world with virtual reality viewers by taking Google Expeditions underwater tours of the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, city tours of important Mexican historical sites and more. Students will not only consume virtual reality, but they will build their global competence and STEAM skills by creating their own virtual worlds and tours in Spanish. Students will use block-based coding in Spanish to create virtual worlds that compare and contrast their lives to those of their Ecuadorian penpals using Cospaces for Education. They will also create a virtual tour of their school and community for their Ecuadorian penpals in Spanish using Google Tour Creator. The virtual reality viewers will enable the students to experience the global virtual tours of Google Expeditions and those created by their classmates and Ecuadorian penpals in Google Tour Creator. They will also enable them to view the Cospaces for Education virtual worlds that they and their classmates create.
