The books I am requesting will be used to enhance my scholars reading comprehension and encourage them to read books they can relate to on many levels. I chose this book for 2 main reasons. They can relate to the internal struggles Miles is facing and how to balance his education at a private school without feeling out of touch with his community. This project will also assist my scholars in decoding written language in both language arts and mathematics. Decoding word problems can be a struggle for many of my scholars. Continual practice of decoding and interpreting information will strengthen them in their logical skills needed for problem solving.
