Some of my students have never traveled beyond their local community, much less state lines. Therefore, I want to bring the outside world into my Earth Science classroom! To do this I will use the landform demonstration kit to help my students visualize tectonic plates and how they cause hazards such as earthquakes and volcanoes. I will also use the acid rain to simulate the harmful and hazardous effects of acid rain on an ecosystem. The stream table will help to demonstrate the effects of flooding as well as human impact on water sources. My class does not have a physical textbook. Instead we use the online science techbook created by Discovery Education. We use laptops on a regular basis to access content and material online. Having headphones will allow students to focus on their own device, as they watch videos and explore virtual simulations.
