Research has shown that flexible seating has benefits that include higher academic achievement, increased sense of community, increased movement, improved behavior and a higher ability to concentrate. Giving my little learners the power to choose where they are going to sit will undoubtedly increase their engagement and motivation. I am so excited to incorporate flexible seating into our daily schedule, especially during center work! I envision some students sitting on Wobble Chairs playing addition memory, a couple students reading to each other using stadium chairs and kiddos who are working independently sitting on stability discs. I am grateful that my district is working nonstop to provide the most up to date technology and rigorous curriculum for our students. I am asking for help with giving my students an update in the classroom they spend hours in each day.
