My students are busy reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Japanese every day, as practice will help them make progress in successful communication in a foreign language. The occasional food project throughout the year will not only teach them the language as we fix the food, but also hook and intrigue even the teenage students to get excited about learning the language and the cultures of Japan. The requested food will make the Japanese New Year food, as well as other foods, including the autumn moon festival food. The donations will benefit not only the students who would forget they're learning language because of too much fun they have, but also the families, friends, and community members they learn from the students when they practice making the food and teaching cultures at home and in the community.
