I've been waiting for this LEGO wall for years and the perfect spot in our library has been waiting as well! Having LEGOS available in the library allows this space to expand its promotion of authentic exploration, genuine team building and understanding of concepts critical to STEM education! Many of our low income families can not provide these kinds of learning tools for their children. LEGOS in the library will provide access to all K-5 students as they develop their love and understanding for STEM concepts. Your support provides our Life Skills and Kindergarten students an engaging method for learning colors and spatial awareness and expands their creative play. These students will have meaningful work and will support the school learning community by sorting LEGOS by color and organizing our tubs. Your contributions allow our grades 1-5 to work on both cooperative and independent learning projects where their creations can be evidence of curriculum related learning. If you fund the idea books, students will have useful guides as a spring board to develop their own amazing projects! I can see our students using the LEGO wall in a multi media presentation as well. I won't lie, having this LEGO wall and these books in Anchorage, Alaska expands our recreational opportunities for kids on ice days or days that drop below -10 degrees! Our students will still feel like they had recess! You are providing our kids access to a project space that they have never experienced before! Please consider helping us launch the dream of a true Maker Space!
