In my Pre-K classroom, the students will learn to describe objects by their attributes including color, size, and texture. The use of color pictures and materials make it possible for students to visualize different attributes and expand their vocabulary and expression. The use of color pictures enhances language learning every day in my class. It makes a big difference to use color pictures than to use black and white ones. Because of budget cuts in our school, our classroom has limited access to color printing. My students come from low-income households and have little exposure to literature and vocabulary. Having color pictures and materials will not only promote language development but also build a strong foundation for the students' academic learning. In addition, the use of color materials to support our socio-emotional program will enrich the students' opportunities to express their emotions and their feelings. Their colorful learning experiences and social interactions create a positive classroom environment that would lead them to success.
