One of my favorite things about teaching my students is opening a new world of knowledge and wonder through reading with them. As our Latinx student populations grow, we are trying to increase our library of books in Spanish to support early language literacy for our native Spanish speakers. Having books in our classrooms that reflect the language and culture of our student population is an important part of creating equitable and inclusive spaces where our students will succeed and feel welcome. Parents also participate in our classes so it is imperative that we have a variety of books available as we encourage them to read with their children and promote family literacy and love for reading.

About my class
