My class will take advantage of the many wonderful opportunities provided to help take our learning to the next level. Many of my students are struggling from being out of in-person school. I would like to make sure our environment feels somewhat back to normal. The things that I asked for will make our library area more inviting by having a rug and bean bags to set up a comfortable library area, where students will want to go and read. This will help to maintain social distancing by having individual bean bags which are easy to clean. Also, coming from a Title 1 school many of my students are struggling. So, I would like to build a stronger small group area by providing the materials that will help build this section of the classroom. In small groups, I’ve asked for binders to keep track of data. Pocket folders and sentence strips to promote academic talk. I asked for carts to hold files and supplies in so that they can be transferred anywhere in the classroom. Also, with the workbooks in writing, I can build a stronger small group area for students to build their writing skills and the posters for students to refer back to on the board when needed. We will utilize small group learning to help students succeed through learning. My students are excited about learning.
