With many things in our ever-changing world, our social studies and science curriculum has quickly become outdated. In order to teach my class all that they need to know, I need to supplement what is provided in the classroom with outside sources. These magazines will provide my class with the latest topics and news stories in science and social studies. Scholastic News is an amazing resource for not only teaching current events, but supporting literacy as well. Beyond just reading about these topics, students will be exposed to graphs, charts, writing prompts, and close reading guides to link these topics to what we are learning in math and language arts.
