My students are from a low-income school. Our school is located in a rural community and this doesn’t give our students an opportunity to explore a lot of the world. In my classroom, I stress the importance of books and how we can visit places within the pages just by sitting in our classroom. Books are a very important part of my teaching. From non-fiction to fables and everything in between, there’s always something to explore and imagine you’re part of the wonderful adventure. That is exactly what I want students in my classroom to experience! A new book opens up a whole new world for them!
