Students will use these Storytelling Kits to develop active listening and story retelling skills. Students will learn about story sequencing by using these hands-on materials to retell the story in the proper sequence. They will also learn about story elements such as characters and settings. Children with strong communication and speaking skills will become better readers! In order for students to develop reading comprehension, they must first be able to comprehend through oral language. These storytelling kits help students learn about reading comprehension by using props from the story to orally retell details in each story. Students will also learn to work collaboratively by using the kits with partners and in groups. In addition, they will be able to creatively retell the stories in their own words.
