My students’ interests range! My job, as an effective gifted teacher, is to facilitate these interests, in addition to incorporating an academic challenge. . These interests range from: Greek gods, box forts, reptiles, to Rubiks Cubes. The more unique the student, the more unique the interests. My students have outgrown the rigor of their general education classrooms, and look to our gifted classroom as an opportunity to rise to the challenge. One thing my students can all agree on, they love robots! Spheros have long been a topic of interest for our classroom. Every August, as we compile a list of proposed project topics, coding and Spheros are ever present. Many of my students have coding experience, but rarely are able to see the real live implications coding and technology can have. Spheros will allow us to visualize just how impactful these topics can be.
