Our speech students will greatly benefit from this standardized language assessment. It covers different language concepts, colors, numbers, and letters. In addition our students who are in special education, particularly our students with Down syndrome, will finally have an evaluation that is geared toward improving their language skills. It will allow us to accurately determine their individual strengths and areas of improvement, and utilize that information for their treatment plans. In addition, it will give us more accurate information to evaluate when it comes time for their Individualized Education Program (IEP). A greater range of appropriate assessments allows us as a Speech Department to provide more appropriate and accurate services to our students.
