Turning your back on students to write on the board is not an ideal way to maintain students attention and keep them engaged in their learning. A document camera would allow me to face my students as I model and show them different concepts. It would allow me to enlarge assignments to make them more visible for my students. We would be able to dive into exemplars and discuss what makes them so special with every student being able to see the exemplar clearly. Having a document camera in my classroom would help me create more discussion and interaction between my students while maintaining their attention. With a document camera, every subject will come alive and enrich student learning. Writers workshop will be transformed to allow students to review and peer review actual writing. We will be able to highlight and underline key points that all students need to incorporate into their own writing. Students will be able to dissect math problems together and explore all the different ways to solve. Information will quite literally jump off of the page and onto a big screen projector for all students to see, no matter where they are sitting in the classroom.
