Even though school libraries are primarily still about books and good stories, they are also at the forefront of technology instruction, integration and the teaching the skills needed for the digital age. Of course, one of the most recent technological advances is the ability to print digitally. I would love to give my students the opportunity to use this cutting edge technology where they can design their own objects using software, then print them in real time. Often, computers can seem so intangible, but here is a way to physically place their hands on something they have created using technological tools! I know my students will be amazed to see their design printed out right before their eyes!
