In 8th grade, students study "dystopian literature." Our middle school teaching team thought what better way to bring the content to life, then to read the "Hunger Games" series and have our very own (safe) version of the games themselves. Periodically, during our reading of the trilogy, our 170 8th graders will gather to compete or cheer on a "Hunger Games" style competition. You have the power to bring "Hunger Games: Middle School Edition" to life by funding this proposal. We'll use the various recess equipment to create athletic and skills based competitions where homeroom classes aka "districts" will be able to earn points for their class, resulting in rewards like a class parties. Plus, we'll be bonding as a team while connecting to the learning content. It's a win-win for learning. Please support us if you can. Mahalo!
