Students will get to learn about data analysis as they compete with their classmates in the traditional cup stacking challenge. We will do different types of data collection to help them understand data analysis. We will review mean, median and mode. We will identify outliers in the data and find mean deviation. This will hit a lot of the 6th grade standards on data and at the same time get the kids to be doing something fun and hands on. We borrowed them from another school last year and our kids loved the activity! We would like to have our own cup stacking sets so we can do this every year and maybe go even further with our learning.
