These seats and pillows will be a great way that students can get out of their desks for independent reading time or a way that they can escape their stiff desk for a while with a clipboard on their laps. Sometimes, even our most well-behaved, hardest working students, need a break. A parent asked me if I had an area where students could "calm down". My answer was no because I do not have the resources. With the bean bag chair, I can place it in an area that distances an overwhelmed student from the current stimulus that is occurring in my classroom. It will give the student a chance to regroup instead of allowing those feelings to build up in an unhealthy way.
