The use of the laboratory supplies will provide my scholars with a kinesthetic learning opportunity enforcing the concepts taught. Laboratory experiments increases engagement and clarity within the discipline. Students love to utilize what they've learned and apply it to a hands-on experiment. Students who struggle with difficult units, such as, molecular structure, find it easier to understand when they are given manipulatives to explore the structure. The Happy Atoms kit will allow students to construct 3D molecules and visualize its structure. The Metals, Nonmetals, and Metalloids kit will allow students to differentiate between the types of elements on the periodic table and expand their understanding of chemical bonding. Providing these laboratory materials will supply students with another learning style to increase their success in cultivating STEM skills.
