The students I work with have disabilities, such as autism, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and developmental delays. Many of them learn differently than typical children, or find it challenging to interact with their environment. As an occupational therapist, I help them develop their fine and visual motor skills so that they can engage in math, writing and drawing assignments. I help them develop their gross motor skills so that they can access the play apparatus, or participate in playground games with other kids. I help children with autism process sensory information so they don't become overwhelmed by what's going on in their environment. These supplies will allow me to create fun, engaging, therapeutic activities to help them learn, interact with other children and access their everyday environment more easily and effectively. Thank you!
