Over the past two years at my current school, we have been working to enhance our outdoor curriculum. Research shows how important outdoor play is to development and health of children. Still, children in many schools, especially those in cities, get little time to play and interact in outdoor nature based environments. With the current state of the pandemic and the research and information we are receiving from our district, it has become abundantly clear that spending time outside can help us to keep learning and stay healthy! With your generous donations, each child in our class will get a set of rain gear to use for the year to keep us learning outside in all weather conditions! We will use these items to keep the students safe and warm while they learn and discover in our outdoor classroom. Additional, the yoga mats will be used the help the students begin to learn social distancing, further helping to stop transmission and keep us in school! We will use these items to replace the carpets and soft spaces we have had to remove due to covid.
