These notebooks are used daily and students heavily rely on them to take notes and complete interactive activities to make history come alive in the classroom. In addition to learning to take proper notes in preparation for college, they learn organizing skills and learn to grasp the main idea of the lesson. Through the different activities in this journal I have had GREAT success in helping students with special needs and students that know little English. These journals bring history alive and help me keep students engaged in the lesson. History is not everyone’s cup of tea but my students have really enjoyed working on their journals. Eventually it becomes their own study guide as they take their last STAAR before graduation! In these history will become colorful and alive!
