My students need resources to experience fun and engaging math projects such as Buying My Dream car! Whether budgeting for a vacation or playing dominoes, math is everywhere in our day-to-day lives! However, it is a topic with which many students struggle. I want to make math hands-on and teach children the importance of understanding math concepts. I am a 7th grade math teacher, who caters to 72 students daily. My students have many different learning styles. They like interactive lessons that engage their minds as well as keep their hands busy. I teach at a Title 1 charter school, and we do not have all the resources that other schools may have. I want to provide my students with as many opportunities as possible to learn and reinforce the math skills I teach. My class project, "Buying My Dream Car" will be great hands-on learning for my students to practice new math skills and review what they already know. The variety of materials will provide activities for students to do independently, with a partner, in a small group, and at a teacher-led center. These materials will not only continue to intrigue and enhance my students' interest in and love of math, but they will also push them academically and encourage deep critical thinking skills. These donations will greatly improve my classroom by providing differentiated, hands-on, and engaging math resources to all my students. With your help, I will incorporate different math projects into my instruction and be able to give my students a solid math foundation they need as well as instilling in them a love for math.
