I plan on creating a workshop model to teach music skills. My students will be taught beginning piano skills in a whole group setting. Afterward, they will break into small groups to practice these skills on the piano while other groups will learn the guitar. Still, yet other groups will practice music theory and engage in music literacy games. My students have expressed a strong desire to play the guitar and piano. I have been excited to offer this to students and run a "Centers" based or workshop model classroom. With the help of donors, my students will have the opportunity to acquire rudimentary skills on both piano and guitar, enabling them to seek further instruction on their favored instrument.
