The recorder is an instrument that is loved by some and hated by others. This instrument that has been around for centuries is a staple in music education across the country. Kids who enter my room come with a wide range of abilities in subjects like math, language arts, and science. In music class all students come together to create and express themselves in a number of different way. My program reaches students from 5th grade all the way up to 8th grade and I see every single student every year that they are in my building. They gain a sense of accomplishment that they may only experience in music class. It can be so meaningful!
