My kindergarteners are always looking for a comfy place to sit and learn, but we don't have much in the room aside from our morning meeting rug. Additionally, laptops and other technology in the building tend to be reserved for upper elementary school teachers and students who have frequent testing schedules. By funding our own laptops, my scholars will be able to use their online math and reading intervention programs to build their skills and the bean bags will ensure everyone has a comfy place to sit and learn while working hard! Teaching self-regulation skills, giving students choice and a voice in where and how they learn is incredibly important in early childhood. It's my hope that by giving my students access to technology and comfortable places to learn that we can close the opportunity gap early in my students' educational careers and give them access to a beautiful future of their choosing.
