The books, I am requesting, will provide students with biographies of different individuals. The beauty of the books is that they are written for children and that they are in Spanish the second or third language that these students will be learning. I am excited because they will have a variety of books to choose from so they will have a great repertoire of stories to discuss. As a teacher I know that reading and exposing students to reading beneficial for students. The goal of course is for them to understand what they read and 3rd grade is a predictor that if they are at grade level in this grade they will continue on the right course. Having books is pivotal for this age group to make sure they are successful in their later educational journey. My goal is for students to comprehend what they are reading and make sense of their world through books! I am so excited to also have a class set of "Charlotte's Web" as I will be able to read as whole group, small group, one on one and have classroom discussions if I am fortunate to get a class set. Having all these books will not just help this students for the 2019-2020 school year but many classes to come.
